1 of my Silkie chicks 5 days old was missing all day . It was 100+ degrees today. Somehow she got separated from her mama. I just found her this evening . During the day all the others were too loud to hear her but once it was dark went out with a flash light and found her. She is breathing hard and can’t keep her eyes open long. Is there anything u can do to help her ? I’ve been dipping her beak in h2o, she doesn’t want to eat. Thank you

Is she actually drinking the water? If not get a medicine syringe or even a spoon, open her beak manually and dribble it directly in. If you have some electrolytes to add to it that is even better.

Try making a humming bird nectar water and give that to her manually. Is he back with th broody, or do you have her separated? If separated get her under a heat lamp, if with her mom, which i would suggest, keep an eye on her to make sure she isn't getting picked on or abandoned. Get her under some heat, and see if she pircks up a bit. Is she shivering, lethargic, chirping? I bet getting some heat on her will help, since she's been away from mom all day. good luck! Avery

Dry doing anything you can to get her blood sugar up. She is close to death not only because of the heat. My birds have had 105 degree temps outside today also with 102 heat indices in the shade here in MS so I know what your dealing with. I didn’t even want to shut the coop door at dark for fear they would over heat it was that bad heat today. Next week is going to be no better. Get some sugar water some Kayro syrup or peanut butter and see if she will peck at it drink it take some from a dropper syringe. Whatever you have try it. Sorry for my haste. Just use what you have and try what you have fast to do what you can as quick as you can. Good luck.

Thank you all for taking the time to help me. She’s doing great. I didn’t want to take her from her man so I stayed outside Dipping her beak and didn’t leave her until she went back u derneath mama. I think she was just too weak to walk under her at first. I set up a little light above water for her. She’s back to eating and drinking.
