Hey guys and gals I'm kinda worried about my new baby.... It's my first baby chick that has made it through. He seems to be tired and not really walking. When I try and to get him to stand he roles back wards or sit like a dog. Any ideas for me with my baby? I did get him to eat on it own and drink on its own. Don't wanna loose my first baby

Day old chicks are usually unsteady on their feet for a while. He doesn’t need to be eating and drinking yet. As long as he has the correct heat and he can get away from it, I would let him rest and find his feet himself, he has just been tucked in a egg for 21 days and had to let himself out (:

x 2. He's had a hell of a fight, getting out of that egg, Poor baby's just tired I expect. He has a built-in belly full of nutrients at the moment but if you're still worried in a few hours, you could try running a drip of nutri drops along the side of his beak until he laps it in. It works wonders on tired babies, a bit like an energy drink does for us humans! ;-)

Will it be bad if this little fella is the only one that makes it? I still have 5 eggs in the incubator that hasn't pecked through yet... I seen one moving a bit not no peck :-(. I have a couple more days but if I have to should I go buy a couple for it so it won't be lonely?

It will be fine. The other eggs should hatch, at least one. Be patient.

I agree with Welshies....wait a wee while, it would definitely appear that you are going to get more hatching if there is movement in the eggs but if that isn't the case, in a few days, then yes, your current bubba will definitely be better off with friends so sourcing some more chicks of a similar age would be preferable xx
