5th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2014 Hatch-A-Long

Upstate ny here but I like to call it southwest ny. I'm an hour south of buffalo.

Hows the weather gonna be in NY tomorrow? I hear snow and freezing rain? I am supposed to go to NY for the weekend but rethinking it due to weather. I hear bad conitions in NY tomorrow on the travel in and REALLY bad conditions here in NH sun coming home. Im thinking its not a good idea.

Just wanted to make everybody jelous... I hatched these three BBS Orpingtons within the last few hours, still not dried off yet.

Not directed to me but I'm in Upstate NY too (JLaw and I know each other from the NY thread) and yes, there's supposed to be a storm tomorrow night into Sunday with up to 8" of snow.

So I candled - still too early to see in the marans eggs, but I saw little guys in my EE eggs! I'm nervous about the leghorns though - I didn't see any development and all were yellow instead of orangy - I'm worried they may not be fertile, as all of them were like this :( I'll give them until day ten, though.

Around my area only 2-4 inches. My yard is over my knees atm mid thighish. I've been plowing my driveway with my cars bumper past two days we've been having white outs hasn't been fun.

Let the one in back know he's only part ninja I saw him after looking at the pic 2-3 times. He needs more training before he can say you cant see me.

I am in Pueblo, CO and set a dozen barnyard mixes and 15 Silkies.  Still trying to connect with the local egg seller who will sell me a couple of dozen (or so) hatching eggs from his laying flock of mainly Production Reds and a few others - possibly a leghorn or two, and if any of those hatch I may keep them, love leghorns.  Anyone else in CO hatching?  Think I saw at least one other here.

If you like leghorns try white breese ! Yes I m a breese pusher.
