I go on vacation from school on December 12th so I can set on December 11th, Probably a little later then noon and then have all of December off
I have not given up on my little foam incubator, I think that I have figured out that you keep it warmer because it is a still air and keep the lid on as much as possible.
Now to find some eggs. I would love some clean legged Bantams of some sort. maybe some OEGB or a barnyard mix.....I love the misfits. So I guess you can count me in but get ready for a GAZILLION questions. I have never had a successful hatch. 

Ron is a great answerer! There are a lot of people with great chicken knowledge here.

If you have had trouble hatching in the past I'd recommend getting a thermometer you can calibrate to double check the temps in your incubator. There are different ways to do it. Look up a few and see what one you can use with your thermometer. If you really are having a terrible time hatching usually the temperature is off.

Thanks ya'll, I have tried Guineas and Pekins, The Pekin eggs lasted about 3 weeks and then passed. I think it was temperature, I need a better thermometer for sure.

Here too. I hate the cold. My chickens and ducks wouldn't even exit the coops yesterday.

Try a white tan or blue local egg if you can get them for learning hatching. Eggs that are not huge or tiny. Breese eyes American as oes orphingtons leg horns cream leg bars all seem to be easy hatchees.

So here are my first questions. First I should tell you the type of incubator, It is a little giant still are foam box. Should I use the egg rotator or flip them myself? Should I fill both of the bottom compartments with water? What temperature should I shoot for? Ok that is all for now.

Is it true that a lower temperature, (within range) result in more pullets?? Has anyone else heard this??
