Oh, it's been a long day, and tomorrow...much of the same.​

hmmmm I see something that may be a blood ring. It seems quite thick and ropey, though, so maybe it's veins. I saw something dark blobby in another one, or my hopes were deceiving me. I am adding a more powerful flashlight to my wish list, as I can't even see air cells in most of them. Some of them seem darker, though, which may be a good thing. Now, I have to be good and leave them alone until Christmas.

Ah, the waiting! It would be so cool if I got a couple of chickies out of this!

just checked my eggs!
out of 25, we have 7 silkies that are good! 9 are clears, but we have no idea how long they were refrigerated from my breeder. too bad.

we also have 7 OEs but they are so hard to see into because they are so dark!
all are heavy, so I think it may bean something good!


the egg I thought died is moving!



I wont have the best hatch rate, but hey, that's not what im hatching for.....im hatching so I could do it with my friends, and that's what counts!!!! at least ill hae 7 chicks! maybe 7 more if my OEs turn out good!!!!!!

We lost our one and only frizzle.. it was a bantam and could get through thre coop fence. Her and one of her friends got out at night tried tonget a drink from the "duck pond" and fell in... saved one, but the frizzzle was long gone.

It was the wife's favorite and will have to find more...

I want to get a better incubator. But can't find one I like.

I want to be able to see in clearly but have easy access without taking to whole lid off. Any suggestions?

I had no idea this was going on!!! Guess I was in the coop too much I have never hatched before but my girl went broody on the 10th so I set 8 eggs under her on the 11th! I've never candeled an egg until tonight when I slipped a few out while she was sleeping. One definately has someone tiny inside - it is moving!!!! The three others I checked have two circles, one circle I assume to be the air sac the other a dark yolk? Since I set them on the 11th are these three bad? :,( I stopped because I didn't want to hurt any babies by my spying.

It is great to have you hatching with us!

Let the broody do her job. She should reject any that are not developing. It is ok to candle but you really do not have to for anything but seeing the chicks inside.
