I pretty much wasted 6 "fertile" eggs and still can't decide if they are fertile! Last one, I promise!

Carrie, just stick them in the bator & candle in 4-5 days. On white eggs the little red spider of veins is very obvious on fertile eggs. That's really the only definite way to tell anyway.

looks fertile to me. 12 and 6 up and down and up from bottom about 4 and 8 across looks like the bulleye to me.

Those are actually what I've been looking for.

Just have to find some and convince DH turkeys are "friends, not food".

Sandhill Preservation Center carries them as poults. They also also have some crossbreed heritage turkeys that are the results of there breeding experiments in turkey color genetics. Those poults are cheaper.

Like I said before, my daughter raises campines. She doesn't have any eggs right now, but come spring she will. Contact me.

Somebody else said it already but put something in the water pan that will reduce the surface area. Not clay. Maybe a piece of glass or a nice clean flat rock.

Girls too? I would like to get one or two of those too, depending on your asking price. Let me know, ok?

By the way, how can you tell the boys from the girls at this age?

The boys have mottled/spotted bodies and the girls have solid colored bodies. I will let you know on the girls after they feather in. I have a trio promised already and I am not sure yet if I am keeping the 3 other pullets.

My lavender orps finished hatching today. Here they are all fluffed up...




Now I can't wait for some bantam wyandottes! I'll need a break after the New Year's hatch. Just kidding
