5th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2014 Hatch-A-Long

I love your BRs they are gorgeous!
Thanks - can't take credit as I didn't breed them, just got lucky to have them.
Mr BR was about 5m & his entire tail & back feathers had been ripped out by I suppose his dad or uncle,
so through a long chain of events I ended up w/ the Trio you see. His tail isn't nearly as nice as 2yr old HBR roo I've seen,
not sure it ever will be, but it came back in nicer after his natural fall moult so I should get more recent pics.

After nursing him all late winter etc. I'm *really like to see some chicks in 2014, News Years Day would be esp. nice.
but unless the girls get w/ the plan in the next day or so its a pipe dream. (They haven't even re-started laying yet)

Looks like it will be the shipped eggs & some empty spaces, don't you just hate the lonely empty spaces in a hot bator ;P

Although I have 2 EE pullets laying (1 m & 2m into laying) & a new jr CL roo arrives Sat sooo maybe they will be his welcoming committee
& a few green eggs will happen into those empty spots...never know where those green eggs might migrate too do ya!

Well.... As far as I know they are her eggs. She's a bantum is all I really know.... black with brown stripes...... Right now there are 3 eggs under her, and 2 golf balls.... As she continues to lay, I may remove a golf ball every few days..... Apparently this morning she got confused when my hubby moved the golf balls out from under her, she sat on the golf balls for a bit before he moved her back onto the eggs. Probably no more than 4 eggs under her, only because she's not all that big. :) We shall see! I marked the current 3 with a marker, and will remove any excess after I hit my 4 that I want to keep. Will only plan on moving her closer to when she's ready to hatch them. I'm hoping she'll hatch them on her own as we don't have an incubator.

Sounds like a good plan!

Oh! Oh! My eggs just arrived - all made it in perfect condition!!! Once they have had a little rest I will give them to my broody Nell - we should be having Christmas Day chickies!!
So pretty! I hope mine arrive in good shape. I have eggs coming from 3 different sources, all were supposed to be shipped out today, but I didn't get even ONE tracking number.....oh boy, let the worrying begin.

I was worried the eggs wouldn't arrive in time if I had them shipped on Monday. They are traveling from TN to CA

Shipping on Saturday would work. You should get them Monday or Tuesday.
Yeah I would definitely not wait until Monday to have them shipped. I would go no later than Saturday. I'm having mine shipped out on Friday and I am like a train wreck worrying about if they'll make it on time and safe.

Those are very nice helpers you have there!

Do they help with typing sometimes?
Oh yeah. Scooter (the mostly yellow one) loves to trample all over my keys and chase the mouse pointer. While I was reading there was one of these

on a post and that REALLY got her riled up. She just could not figure out why she couldn't grab it.

Awwww, so sweet! Are these Ancona's?
Yes. These are the anconas I just hatched. The smaller dark one (Chocolate or tricolor I think) just finished hatching in the wee hours this morning. He was pretty weak but is getting stronger. Still not not nearly as feisty as Scooter though.
