5th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2014 Hatch-A-Long

Already Pm's this to Ron,

But to be clear, my eggs I numbered when I was unpacking/letting them rest and between the
dogs, the cats, the DH & the phone lets just say the numbers I wrote on them in pencil were a little off.

So I mostly fixed that when I set, except I skipped # 37, so here I wrote the # they say, which less #37 = 49 eggs set, really.
& Ya'll thought you had chicken math down pat didn't you ;P

Perhaps my new nickname is #37...or maybe that just means I get to set 37 more eggs later on...

I am setting 13 quail eggs. I broke 2 today. and 13 OE eggs on the 13th of Dec 2013. I finally got my incubator adjusted so it was not spiking wildly.

If you need a photo I will have to get it to you in the wee hours of the morning because I am hatching on the sly.
26 right? The picture is for the hatch rate prize.

I set the following eggs on 12/11 at 12:00pm:

12 - Leghorn/Polish Mix
15 - Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons
18 - Amercauna/EE/OE/Maran Mixes

:) :)

I forgot my 8 Blue Orpingtons!
53 is what I total up for you. Good luck!

here is my picture Ron thanks
Thanks for the picture! I have added to the contest.

I am in Pueblo, CO and set a dozen barnyard mixes and 15 Silkies. Still trying to connect with the local egg seller who will sell me a couple of dozen (or so) hatching eggs from his laying flock of mainly Production Reds and a few others - possibly a leghorn or two, and if any of those hatch I may keep them, love leghorns. Anyone else in CO hatching? Think I saw at least one other here.

ChickenCanoe, when you built your hover brooder, how and where did you attach the lights? I am one of those people with a blind spot when it comes to construction (DH is the opposite but I can't run the idea by him until I know exactly what I want ... so maybe he would build it for me ...) so I need to understand what I want the end product to look like and how I want it to function. Are there guards around the bulbs? Are they far from the top or floor?
