So far, if looks like I have 2 live embryos out of 9 eggs. Some were frozen and seeped. The slw eggs were infertile and I had 2 blood rings. I'm bummed. But looking forward to a chance at a drawing now

I really hope my last two live chickies make it to hatching.
I hope they do too!

Well, I got uno a friend! Sign says araucana, but isn't that usually a fancy name for an EE?
Yay! Yes, she'll be an EE. But EE's are great chickens. I love mine and love the pretty eggs.

good luck! I hope the three you do have hatch!
is it possible for the air cells to reattach?
Yes air cells can reattach if the eggs are treated properly and the damage isn't too bad.

Y
yes, they do like each other. Chipmunk ( not her name) has already shown uno how to drink! Good girl!
That is great news! So glad they are getting along well.

How do you know if an air cell has detached????
When you candle and tilt the egg the air cell will "roll" around with the motion of the egg rather than staying anchored at the top like it should.

Hey fellow chicken psychos- er- I mean people. It took me forever to get caught up! I haven't been on since last night. My husband wrecked his semi in Iowa late last night due to the fact that the idiots at the truck stop did not put deicer or salt or sand or anything on their parking lot so he ended up sliding into another truck. So now his looks like someone took a can opener to it. Ugh!
So I candled my eggs and culled 5, I'm now down to 27 eggs. 3 that I called were EQ and 2 were clear. Not too shabby I say.
Oh no! That is awful.

I do hope he is alright. I use to worry so much when my husband drove a truck.

Here you have to buy a minimum of 6 chicks.

same here in ny. but if it's like a mom pop style store not TSC you could probably get away with it easier. And if they know you they might let it slide even more. Or say I have them sell my chicks they might not put it on books and it toss them a kick back off each chick.

I could understand if they were shipped, but if you go in person you should be able to choose! I had a really hard time only buying one!

I agree to a point of only buying one. But that's if they know you have chickens or say you bought some the day or week before and you have receipt. But I see the point of only letting people buy 6 at a time. Too many people think chicks/ducks are cute and then have them for a month or two and need to rehome them. Buying six makes people think about it alittle more.

Hey yall! Good to be back. Ill be watching along with ya as I wont be hatching anything right now. 4 moves since April and 2 psycho landlords totally wiped out my flock. Trio of geese few ducks and a handful of turkeys all that's left :/... its gunna be a slow year trying to rebuild the flock to its former glory. May take a year plus just to recover financially from the moves alone. Another long uphill trudge. Semper FI

Good point. Chickens are a trend right now
