My first chick hatched just now

a BCM from my flocks eggs.

And I now have 3 pips in my shipped Silkie eggs.

Lost my first one

I made a cabinet incubator out of a kitchen cabinet, he climbed right over the side of the hatching drawer and of course he fell into the water reservoir. Note to self: "Extend sides of hatching drawers!"

On a happier note I have 9 more pips, but nobody wants to come out and play.

congrats everyone on chicks I'm up to 13 now and have some good pips with slight zips. Wish I didn't have any pips or zips want to get some fluffs out and some egg shells.

I set a day later than most sometime midday on the 12th. Still no pips though. Next hatch long, if I have the eggs and time I think I will set a few a week early.

2 more pips! The one that hatched is really fluffy. It's a EExPartrdge Barthuhner cross. The 2 pips are leghorn x PB mixes.
