I'm just going to get the duck eggs for now. I'm still raising twenty chicks that are six weeks old. Naked necks, Silkies and other bantam Cochins.
I'll look you up when I'm looking for more small eggs. Naked necks and small eggs are hard to find.

Is it true that these breed of duck can fly a good distance?
I just read an article on backyard chickens that said they need to have their wing clipped after hatching.
That sounds cruel.
I only have a small four foot fence surrounding my yard.

Yes, I have to cut their wings in the spring and in the fall. Otherwise they will go all over the neighborhood and here people shoot guns in the backyards.

I cut only the 3 inches of the wing feathers when they start to fly and the wings are full length not before that.

The naked neck chickens come from Romania, they are mixed with wild turkey from Carpathian mountains. They are good hatchers and mothers. It took me a while till I found some babies a few years back, now everything I have naked neck are hatched and raised here.
