6-8 week olds, can you tell the sex yet?

Alright, I have updated pictures of some of my chicks! Who aren't so much chicks anymore... Pardon any blurry pics, they were all excited I put up some lights for them before bed and were all getting their last drinks and snacks before they went to sleep. Just like kids. 😂

First up, onyx. Pretty sure pullet. Her comb us getting pretty big and just starting to get some wattles, but she is a week or two older than my youngest ones, so hopefully not indicative that she's actually a he. 🤞

Next up, Koko. Looks like a for sure pullet to me. IMG_20211018_184648.jpg IMG_20211018_184651~2.jpg

After that we have Hazel. Still not 100% on her, but looking at her in comparison to some of the for sure boys, I would say pullet. She does have a big comb, but no wattles. And she's half salmon faverolles, which according to the lady I got them from, says get bigger combs early on, even the girls. IMG_20211018_183901~2.jpg IMG_20211018_184254~2.jpg IMG_20211018_183856~2.jpg IMG_20211018_184518~2.jpg apparently Hazel was the most cooperative for pictures, because she has the most!

Next is Olive, hard to tell apart from her sister. (Assuming they're both girls!) Again, look at her lack of wattles compared with Granite across from her. He is clearly a roo. IMG_20211018_184446~2.jpg

Next up is Willow. Looking like a cockerel now with those wattles. IMG_20211018_183654~2.jpg
Chickmonk I'm quite sure is a pullet still.

Next is Flower. She has a big comb, but she's also half salmon faverolles so I'm hoping that's why and she's not a boy too. IMG_20211018_184431~2.jpg

The former Ruby, now Reubin. CLEARLY a cockerel! IMG_20211018_184339~2.jpg
Along with granite, another clear boy.

The other two barred rocks and Opal I didn't get a new picture of because I know they're girls. I'll keep this updated if any of my hopeful pullets start getting wattles and crowing. 😂 But I would definitely be ok with just 3 boys in this batch! Wasn't fun butchering our last cockerels. 😰

So I just looked at pictures of salmon faverolles pullets. I know mine aren't purebred, unfortunately, or it would be so much easier to tell! But I'm thinking most of you guys might be right on more cockerels. They do have some big combs. Though Ruby/Ruben is only a week or so older and his is WAY bigger and he's a salmon faverolles mix too, I believe. But I think maybe the lady I got them from was out to lunch... Time will tell I guess!
