6-8 week olds, can you tell the sex yet?

I would think it’s fine. I did read that egg shells aren’t as good for calcium because they don’t last the whole night (which is when their egg shells develop) but if you have the calcium grit stuff you should be set!😊
Good to know about the egg shells. I'll keep an eye on them and also see if I can source some oyster shell at some point.

Easter Eggers.
Well hopefully we get a colorful egg basket with all these Easter Eggers. The lady who sold them to me did say she was getting blue eggs from them, so we shall see. She did also say she had some old hens who were no longer laying. I very clearly specified that I only wanted the younger hens that are still laying. But I guess only time will tell if I've been swindled yet again. 😳

It’s hard to judge the exact age of a hen. They’re at least a few years old I bet. Their feathers look worn. Do they have spurs?

Darn. That sucks.
Ruby is the surest boy there is!!!! He’s is NOT a pullet. It’s great that she’ll take him though.
I know, I was so annoyed after I brought Ruby home because he clearly has huge comb and wattles. This is how he got his name though. It looks worse than it was, I think the other chicks pulled some feathers out though because he now has a bald patch. Hopefully the lady will still take him back 😅

The brown and buff are 1-2+ years old, I’d say.
The silvery girl looks like a pullet in her first year.
What about these 2? There are 6 I got from the same flock, the EE's, the buff/EE mix, the barred rock and these 2 buff orps. I also got 3 Swedish Flower Hens who are so cool looking and will look even better once they molt their clipped wings and grow full ones back! So many cool breeds of chickens.
