Rare Feathers Farm is proud to offer:

6+ TEST Hatching eggs from my rare breeds flock. These eggs are from my standard black Crevecoeur pen. These are QUALITY birds from two select, exhibition lines, combined into one breeding program (mine!) None of my birds have come from hatcheries. Four of these are first-year pullets who started laying last month and now their egg size is getting bigger so I thought I'd offer some out as a test. The rooster and the other hen are 1 and 3 years old and proven breeders. They are all housed together.

FAST PAYMENT IS CRITICAL IN GETTING THESE MAILED OUT IN A TIMELY MANNER! These will ship out on MONDAY, FEB. 14th.

That said, if you need extra time to pay or you want eggs but are not quite ready--please order from my website later this spring. I'm more than happy to make arrangements for a later ship date on non-auction eggs!

Additional Shipping Info:

Each egg will be individually wrapped to prevent breakage while they are in transit. I will send any/all extras just incase any of the eggs do crack or break.

I will ship the eggs as close to the beginning of the week as possible (I ship on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & sometimes, on Thursdays) so they will not sit at the post office over the weekend. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me, I will be more than happy to answer you!

Fine Print:

I guarantee fresh eggs of the breed auctioned. However, I cannot guarantee hatch-ability due to many variables out of my control after the eggs leave my farm--such as shipping & handling, incubation equipment, and incubation methods.

Patience

Please remember I am not a 24-hour fast food place where you can order and expect service immediately! I am doing this as a hobby and I work as fast and efficiently as the time allows. I do have a 40+ hour per week "real job." I cannot guarantee specific availability dates, as I cannot guarantee the laying rate of each of the many breeds that I have. I will get to each and every person that places an order - in the order the date that I receive that order through the web store.

PAYMENT AND SHIPPING POLICY:
PayPal only please, NO E-CHECKS! Eggs are TIME-SENSITIVE & CANNOT SIT AROUND FOR A WEEK WAITING FOR E-CHECKS TO CLEAR without comprising hatch-ability!

Please READ THIS & UNDERSTAND PRIOR TO BIDDING!

They look a lot like sultan but in black. How is this different than sultan? What kind of egg color?

I wish I had room for another breed here. I think the roosters are the coolest looking, even if they do look like they have devil horns.

They lay a white egg. They are far heavier than a Sultan, an all-around larger bird. They don't have extra toes or greenish legs or foot feathering like a Sultan. They are also a lot more hardy than the Sultans (been there, tried them and they couldn't survive our weather).

Unlike a Sultan they were originally a dual purpose breed, too.

Heather, you are SOOOO tempting me.

I really want to get into a dual purpose extra-rare breed, and Crevies are on the list to decide with. I was waiting til I'd see an auction.

That's correct. These don't get nearly as heavy as the ones in the past did. I've heard that Dorkings make good eating, too. The Creves I've never eaten but they LOOK meaty, LOL

They don't range well because their crests obstruct their vision and they don't tolerate being wet or cold. I lock mine indoors for most of the winter along with my houdan bantams because they have the same issues.

Wish I had room for them at the moment. I had a crevie hen a long time ago and I loved her. Are you going to have more eggs for sale later in the year?

So, what is meant by test? Are they not at auction or ??? I've not participated in a test before.. And how are your coronations producing? Those are such cool looking birds.
