they will not be sexed and be day olds I have another auction for 6 Ameraucanas and shipping can be combined for same price. I can vaccinate them for mareks for $20 (all this too can be combined with the other auction for no additional costs.)

AHappychick, I have become very interested in this breed due to the egg color, but I have not raised chicks & just started raising my hens going on approx two months now.

I have the will to find the way, but how difficult is it to raise young chicks like these? I haven't read up on raising chicks, I can do that.

How much attention do the chicks need, heat, lighting, am I getting in way over my head here if I were to win or with some diligence & a crash course on chick rearing do you honestly think I could pull it off?

I would do everything in my power to give them proper care, but just haven't done it & wouldn't want them to suffer from my ignorance.

Thanks!

they are pretty hardy being Large fowl and all. Raise them just like any other chick. inside with heat lamp 95degree the first week then down 5 degrees each week until 7-8 weeks old by then no het lamp needed. There are tons of info on raising chicks. you will need to read up on it.

I have had some mussie marans that lays THE darkest color eggs, I don't use them to breed, but boy do they lay well and gorgeous eggs, looks very pretty too.

you know I have heard that a lot about the Mossie (sp?) ones I wonder why they lay darker eggs. Seems that a lot of people find that to be true
