Hello! I have a 6 week old duck with some issues! At first I thought it was bumblefoot but after some research and some info from others. We believe it is either a slipped tendon/ hock injury!
my vet around me does not handle ducks so I’m going to try and do this myself! been treating for bumble for a few days now without seeing any improvements. Soaking in Epsom salt, applying would care.
yesterday learning that it might be a slipped tendon, I did some stretching on her but the joint looks to be swollen. I then applied tape to keep the leg straight.
I did order brewers yeast that will be delivered tomorrow and a bootie ( sure the bootie won’t help but figured I should have it in case!)
I have been feeding them chick starter, unaware of any type of niacin deficiency. I’ve always fed my ducks on starter feed with no issues in the past but will learn from this now.
Now need advice on how to take care of this little one moving forward!
below is pictures!
