6 week old barred rock chicks gender

Oh no...I want this to be wrong lol!

I mean barred rock roos are gorgeous 😍 but I already have 2 gorgeous roos! Looks like I'll be building another pen if this is the case and they aren't getting along. Time will tell.
Sorry! 🤷🏽‍♀️ But now you know for future reference, eh?

Update: These two are definitely a barnyard mix and not full barred rock or other look a like. One has brownish neck feathers and the other has a few feathers on its legs. The gal said she also has brahma in a nearby area that would comingle from time to time. I think they both might be girls though? Is that possible based on the updated pictures below? They are 18 weeks old and the feathering on the one is not nearly as "white" as barred rock roos are in pictures. I have been going off barred rock hen vs roo pics online for comparison. I also inspected the one we thought might be a roo and cannot find and saddle feathers coming in or hackle feathers. They both act like hens.

I would expect way more comb development at 18 weeks if either were roos. I would say they are definitely hens. If they are mixed (which they clearly seem to be) you can't really go by if one has the double barring genes of a roo. I just got had on breeds of hatching eggs. One of the blue eggs that were supposed to be legbars hatched out a black baby. Three brown eggs that were supposed to be barnvelders hatched out one roo with muffs and a beard! The other two have barring instead of penciling on their feathers. I feel your frustration, I really do. I'm happy that mine are healthy and happy though! It can be really annoying when you had plans with the breeds you were supposed to be buying.

My GUESS, and that's all it is, is a guess, is based on Pic #2 where the birds are side by side. I want to say the one on the left is a pullet due to her coloring and the one on the right is a cockerel. But I don't believe it. They both look like pullets to me. In fact, I will guarantee they are both pullets. That means you get your money back if I am wrong! :lau 😉

Oh my goodness! I hope this is in fact the case! I kept waffling my opinion so I am glad I posted updated pics and you all agree so far! Thank you!
