6 week old barred rock pullet or cockerel

Dark barring but that comb is pink! What do you think? I hope pullet

To my (inexperienced) eye the barring looks right for a pullet, and the comb is maybe not red enough to be a cockerel? Or it just has that "I'm a girl" look.

I agree with you I’m pretty sure she’s a pullet. The more I look at photos she looks like a fast developing pullet not a cockerel. But I could be wrong!

I'm not saying I'm certain. Just making a vote based on my own experience with the breed. My Barred Rocks didn't get a comb even close to that size until 16 weeks, but I believe male Barred Rocks also tend to have more white in their barring.

My Barred Rock is 15 weeks & her comb isn't that big either.
Such a cutie, too. That stinks. Sorry! I had to get rid of one of mine at 8 weeks. B/c she was really a he. Awful.
