6 week old barred rock pullet or cockerel

Thinking it's actually a male black Sex-link, not a Barred Rock.

This would be my second guess. Also needs yellow skin though.

My vote is pullet. I have 4 barred rock, some mature quicker than others. At 7 weeks about half of them looked like this. They are now 20 weeks and laying eggs. I have back up pictures if you'd like.

My Barred Rock is 15 weeks & her comb isn't that big either.
Such a cutie, too. That stinks. Sorry! I had to get rid of one of mine at 8 weeks. B/c she was really a he. Awful.

BR mature at different rates like most other breeds..half of mine looked like this at 7 weeks. They are all pullets.

It's shanks look green, so there's yellow skin. Beak is yellow too.

We can ask for leg/foot pictures for better confirmation? Though a black Sex-link produced with a Cuckoo Marans would create a white skinned variety.

Even a purebred Cuckoo Marans cockerel is double Barred, which wouldn't look as dark as this chick is.

Did you ask for a Meal Maker? If not it could have been a mistake, like a chick jumping into another batch of chicks.

Could totally be yellow skin. Sometimes I have a hard time seeing it in pics when they're this young.

The meal maker was an olive egger which I finally figured out which one it is. So either I got BR pullets or something went horribly wrong

I’ll take more photos in a little bit it’s pouring here right now. If Meyer made a mistake and sent me a bunch of cockerels I’d rather figure it out sooner rather than later.

Mine was an Olive Egger too.

Thinking a basket jumping chick, maybe what happened, just a theory.
You can always update in another 6 weeks for gender confirmation.
