Is my 6-week old a pullet? :fl

They're a partridge silkie x who seems to be taking after their silkie parent in terms of butt fluff. By 4 or 5 weeks old they were almost completely feathered, certainly their mid-back and wing bows as well as crop/chest area. No visible comb or wattles at this point but I know it can take awhile for silkies. Weigh in with thoughts please!

I'm not a silkie expert, but 6 weeks is a bit early for any breed. Watch how the feathers grow in, and their behaviour. My Roos all get more assertive as they get older, but you never know for sure until you hear the first strangled attempt at crowing.

It is a cross, so will be easier to gender ID than a purebred. 😊

This one is pretty timid and docile, but not sure if that's just her silkie side coming through lol. They definitely don't push other chicks around or anything.

I have two little guys around a week old. there is one that will literally already charge me lol. I'm hoping I got at least one hen! The other is much less assertive. I know it's too soon to tell but just thought I would throw that in lol

After all this time, I still have no idea with every set of "sexed pullets" chicks I brood. I have a set of 10 Silver Laced Wyandottes that are currently 8 weeks old. One is larger than the others, leads them out of the coop in the morning and in at night. She or he walks around when they eat, watches me carefully, approaches me when I enter the coop, and will try to circle around behind me and peck my wedding band. Even makes a "chook" sound in the morning when they eat. But I won't know for sure until she or he crows. Or lays an egg. The hatcherys are supposed to be 90% accurate in sexing, but I think sometimes they have "Mondays and Fridays" problems. At times I have wound up with 3 roosters in a dozen chicks. It's sort of like a game of chance!
