6 weeks female starting to lay

I got 12 girls and two eggs are always white.

Do white colour quails lay white eggs?

Also the white eggs are mostly very soft, and extra small and just yucky looking. . Like blotches of grey etc..

Pls note one white girl is smaller in size then the others.

Are eggs normally this weird when they begin to lay. . . 6 weeks old.

The rest of our eggs from the others are normal as you would expect. One was 15g

12 girls, 8 to9 eggs a day so far.

It can take them awhile for their systems to be functioning properly. White, soft eggs are ones that have gone through too quickly and missed out on enough calcium deposits and colour. Are you giving them extra oyster shell to supplement their calcium needs as the feed does not have enough in it and some hens need more anyway. Stress can also lead to soft eggs so make sure everyone is happy, no one is being bullied and their environment doesn't change and has nothing stressing them (such as predators - even a cat sitting and staring at them will upset them). Hopefully you'll be enjoying their beautiful eggs soon.

I have had my share of starting at the for long periods of time... Just enjoy watching them.... Must be the "new to it thing"

Today we had 8 eggs (12 girls)

All were normal in size and hardness. Two were extra far and tall eggs!

One was a white egg.

Does white birds lay white eggs?

I been feeding them. Some shell grit as the place I went didn't have oyster shell.

Also chopped up greens. Which they finish every day.

Just came back from the beach with the kids. I got back heaps of cuttlefish inside. . The dry hard white powdery part. The one they give to birds to grind on. Is this good source of calcium, crushed and fed to my birds?

Yes u can give it to them people tend to leave them whole as they can peck at them to keep them entertained and wear down their beaks too
