6 Weeks Old, are they "normal"? Pics Update Pg3!!!!

Well I thought I had 4 girls & 3 boys, but then there was "Stubby".. Stubby has no tail really at all.. and is a little... less developed than the others.. I think stubby may be a boy but not certain yet, and the boys are definitely front & center here, but i'm still thinking I have at least 3 girls.

We have one Buff Orph whi is 4 weeks. She seems a lot smaller than those in the photo, but the chicks grow so fast that I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up looking like them too!

I have some buff orps hatched on may 31 and they are not as big as yours, not even that close. I got the eggs from two different people so I don't think it has anything to do with where they came from.
I don't know, maybe mine are small, but it seems like yours could be off by a couple of weeks.

ALL ROOS???????

oh boy
well.. today I am going to put them into the new chicken tractor and I will take good pics of them then... for you to judge

please stay tuned... your input is required...

Bodyflight, where is Del Rio, TN. They all look like BO's to me. There are definitely several roosters in there. I love BO's, but they do eat a lot and grow very heavy. The meat is really good to eat if you are thinking in that direction. They look like about 12 weeks old to me.

They look just about the size of my Buffs at that age. Mine are 10 weeks now and they are huge and gorgeous. In fact I wish I had gotten all Buffs now.

On a less happy note I am going to have to agree that there are at least 4or 5 roos. My girls combs are not even that big at 12 weeks.

Pleased to meet ya Smith!

We are clear on the other side of the state from you in the Smokies, near Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge and just a few miles from the North Carolina state line (my husband works in Maggie Valley, NC)

We are going to pack our freezer with any extra roos. 3 of the healthiest will be kept for breeding, and we have a dozen or more chicks coming next week that will also be in the running.
