Oh man, I so want a blue out in my yard again! Are these Marans..Orpington..can't see the feet well enough to see if there are feathers or not. Beautiful!

We are getting no eggs. An unfortunate disease has put us in the position of 'depopulating' our flock. We chose to hang on to enough breeders to continue the progress we've made on our lines -the disease is not passed vertically (to the chick in the egg). After hatching we need to keep the new birds in new coops on virgin soil and cull the rest of our birds. It's quite the heart ache, but this is what we've got to do. So now the problem is...nobody is laying. Arrrrgh!

Hello everyone,

I joined just for the 2015 hatch-a-long. I will be hatching Shamo chicks and possibly one Americana/Shamo mix. I've started collecting the eggs and I'm very excited to be a part of this hatch-a-long. I'll be posting pics of my flock and more info soon.

Thanks a bunch!

Day 4 of egg collecting. I got 7 today!!! Making that a total of 21. I might have started to early as I only wanted to hatch 2 dozen or so. At this point I'd say maybe 3 dozen or so lol. I usually only get around 50% hatch rate. (Based on my last 3 tries)

You're going to have a million bajillion eggs! Ha... :D
