I think that would be great. What's the plan to get the crests on them? Just curious as to how you'll get there.
Crested cream legbar for the blue egg shell x Crele penedesenca for the dark brown coating.

Shes a japanese bantam silkie cross! Sold the parents to two different ByCers here this summer.
I ended up hatching 6 eggs total of his breed and got one girl! Milkshake was the first hatches on new years, everyone else on july fourth. Overall i had 3 black 3 whites from this hatch. I kept one of my white roos and named him Indie. Hes adorable and super sweet!
AND mr indie seems to have some surprises in stock for me...

I think he meant the white egg laying type of Ameraucana. Haven't heard of it? Yeah, it's a new thing, only that guy has them. lol!![]()
dont usually find white chickens appealing but he is handsomeumm what kinda surprise???
I was watching a vidoe and it mentioned bloodline in the egg when the embryo passes away
He is very handsome. And his coloring gorgeous. All of your crosses that I have seen are super cute, love them all.
I thought it was very fitting for this NYDH that my Silkie I hatched last years NYDH is brooding her Silkie eggs for this years hatch.
I have also heard it called water candling. "Float test" makes much more sense! I recommend doing it just because it is so cool to see those eggs wiggling around!I think you are talking about a float test.

Yeppers! I don't want any oogies all over my bator! That is great news!
Get rid of the seeping eggs.
As long as there isn't any pipping then it won't harm the chick. It is super neat to see them wobble and bob in the water.Yep, that is what I was talking about. A friend of mine told me to do it but I was unsure because I thought it would drown the chick. Thank you for the video!
Oooo. That would be awesome if you could hear them!It sure is tough sitting on your hands and waiting for candling day! I've been reading up on chicken embryo development cause I want to follow along with them even though I can't touch them or see inside yet. I learned that their itty-bitty barely formed hearts start beating around the 42 hour mark. So most of our incubators should be full of wee little heart beats by now!! Soo cute even if I can't hear them. I wonder if you could hear it with a stethoscope? That would be so cool!![]()
That is a very handsome roo.I hope to get some babies from this rooster on hatch day:
I have six eggs from one of my hens that he is penned with. Hoping for a few more Green Egger Naked Necks from him. I have three hens with him but only one if them is laying right now she is one if my oldest hens that I have. She about 4 years old. One if the first that I bred.
I remember Milkshake.AND i have to say those eggs are GORGEOUS! I agree with @Peep_Show LOL i beed to sit in santas lap with you!
Speaking of EGGS...
Pretty sure my girly malt laid her first egg today! (My lady hands are huge but her egg is really that small LOL) OMG SO HAPPY! she was hatched on independence day. Her brother milkshake was hatched on new years last year...not sure if you all remember him...
And heres malt (below)![]()

Beautiful pups!!Wow, lovely nice prize for the random post contestMeanwhile, I've been trying not to over-fiddle w/ my LG incubator, but as others have stated the older 9200 has some temp flux issues, esp. when my house heater has some temp. flux issues. I find I simply have to adjust it at night & then in the am, ever so tiny tiny just touch the dial type adjustments in order to keep it from being too cold at night or too hot during the day
The new, (different shaped styro) LG 9200 appears to not be as subject to these fluxes (this on I set Dec 4 when I didn't get the duck eggs) It was set w/ 64 eggs, from 2 other ppl's plus some of mine, day 7 I pulled 12 eggs, (4 duds, 8 bloodrings) those were from their eggs. Thing is the eggs I set a week later are the other half of the eggs I got at that time from those other ppl, so I figure they will be pretty _old_ & I'll be pulling a high % of them when we candle for the NYD HAL, on the up side of (not telling) total # set, I had 22 FRESH from my own girls so those I have good hopes for. & my girls gave me 5 eggs today, best single day since they got back from their vacation (molt) , which is good b/c the DH was none too happy to see all those other eggs take a detour away from the kitchen! Meanwhile, just for fun , today our Dogue de Bordeaux turned 1 yr old, kinda cool he was born on a Fri the 13 & turned 1 on 12/13/14, he is the puppy on the left, that is a 7ft long couch & a 6ft,5inch tall DH in the background to give you an idea of size, we are trying to get him to be chicken-friendly like our current old farm dog (not pictured).
