It felt so wrong. . I been so stressed out about this hatching (my first time doing it)... and so excited that the silkies are looking good.. I really hope that she can make it!

Only 3 pages behind this morning. Everyone must have been tired. Those who haven't candled are exhausted from anxiety and distracting activities. Those who have candled are content and sleeping well. I might make it to work on time today. Probably not.

not for any of my teams. The helmet usually goes on after 8 or 10 beers. It wigs my neighbors out seeing me wearing a helmet and a speedo

My broody Silkie hopped off her nest this morning for a little stretch and some food/water. So I took that opportunity to do a quick candling (I usually wait till half way through) She has 5 Silkie eggs under her and all 5 seem to be veining. Im a day and a half behind most of you so the veining was just barely visible. But I am excited they are doing well. These eggs were washed and refrigerated because I wasn't expecting to have a broody and be able join the hatch. So I am pleasantly surprised.

This is a good candling video. It shows great movement inside the egg. Way to get everyone excited for the upcoming days of our eggs!

Thats EGGcellent to hear! I had one refrigerated egg in the 3 eggs i set for christmas and it never started development. Ive only had one fridge egg that ever hatched

Not long maybe a few days (2-3).

Good job! I finally broke and took a quick peek without taking the eggs out. I probably shouldn't have because I only saw veins in a few. I know it's to early to tell but now I'm going to worry until Thursday when I actually candle.

How long were yours in for?

The little kissy/pecky chick in my avatar is a Trader Joe's egg that was 8 days in the fridge section of the store when I set it. Amazing that she hatched out as she was washed, stamped on the shell with an expiry date, shipped and chilled. Hatched on New Year's Day a couple of years ago during one of the HALs.
