Welcome to the obsession!

Depending on the breed and temperature during incubation, they will pip and hatch at different rates. Nothing is exact with hatching. It is very nerve wracking....

One of my HAL eggs is quivering!! No internal pip, I have a feeling it will pip the wrong end. My Serama chicks love to do that! I'm gonna keep an eye on it. So excited to have these birds I was coveting for quite a while.

So true. Makes you wonder why all the .. here's how ya do it books, sites, and threads. Those little chicks will come according to just what you said here. Breed, and temps. Different rate of hatching. Of course, basic information is important to those that have not ever hatched before, but they catch on...if they catch..."the bug." Obsession bug. Practice makes perfect? Well, one of those things.

I won't be able to catch up completely from where I left off pre-Xmas.
So merry Xmas, congratulations and all the other greetings (or condolences) that may apply to you all :)
I hope everyone is well and happy?

It seems my daughter has caught the bug. She asked me the other day if she could incubate and hatch some chicks too.

Candled last night, saw 12 happy wriggling little peeps in the eggs, which were put in lockdown alongside a questionable egg while a couple stinkers and quitters were pulled out.

Happy with my 12/maybe 13 that have made it through to lockdown... Much better than my last shipped lot of eggs. Let's just hope they make it through to hatching :D

We have a reeeeaaaally hot day predicted for tomorrow, so I have everything crossed that the incubator will behave and I can keep it cool enough.
I lost the last lot to temperature spikes and don't want to experience that again...... Of all the days that had to finally feel like our usual summers, it HAD to be during lockdown didn't it!?
Murphey can shove his law you-know-where...
