6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

Does Sally Sunshinne still breed Seramas?

I was supposed to set a group of BLRW yesterday, but I got distracted... I'm going to put them in today. This will force me to set my NYD hatch eggs late, which is ok as we travel over New Years and I am NOT bringing the incubator in the car again! My Eggies will remain safely at home and hatch a day or 2 after everyone else's.

Off to the Italian Market to do some shopping for turkey day!
What happened when you took the incubator in the car? I'm wondering because I'm going to be out of town for a few days during incubation, and considered just bringing the incubator. Maybe I should just make an egg turner, instead.

Awesome! Can't wait to see some fuzzie pics!

Sounds like you're going to have a pretty good hatch rate if they keep going at that rate

Hoping to see a duckie soon... it's been 12 hours since I woke up and saw the first 2 pips lol and I'm trying everything I can think of to stay away from the bator to make time go faster

I've been trying everything I can think of to stop staring in the window too. But it really isn't working.

You're waiting on ducks which is even worse. They seem to take FOREVER. Go go little duckies! Get a move on!

I now have 3 out, the backward one is getting more vigorous with stretching and pushing, so hopefully soon, and 9 visible pips.

All the pretty ladies have been reorganized into their breeding pens and just in time for me to participate in this HAL. I have never tried hatching this early here in MN due to the usually insanely cold weather at that time of year. But the 4H crowd is always looking for birds hatched in Jan so I am giving it a go with my mille fleur d'uccles. And with full blessing of DH who I am sure hasn't thought about that the hatchlings will be in the basement brooders starting Jan 1.

:thumbsup  I've been getting them from all over the place. Ebay, breeders, etc. This time I found a craigslist ad for someone with eggs. I will be driving for them this time instead of having them shipped. It'll be about a 6 hour drive round trip but I thought I'd make an all day adventure out of it with the kids. I found an ebay seller that does an exceptional job with packaging that I just ordered from again. The last batch of 13 I got from them are on day 12 and 12/13 eggs have beautiful veining and development still. really hoping all 12 make it to lockdown :fl

I bet they will do awesome. Love to see picks when they hatch.

That's a nice buck! Congrats! :woot

there's different size classes but generally a little smaller or a little taller than a pop can. :love

Last year I got eggs from you for the New Year's Day hatch a long the hatch rate was awesome. I was wondering if you have any Sermara eggs that you can sell me? And what classes do you have?
Thank you
Dianne
