Can someone offer her some advice please? She's really stressing. It's her first time and she had the humidity too high. Now, her ducklings are pipping but have virtually no air pocket.

So I have like a week and a half to get one of my chickens broody! I have an egg due to hatch any day now and that is my only broody hen! hahaha! No incubator

If I wanted a hen to go broody I would leave eggs in the nest box. I've also heard that playing recordings of chicks helps, I haven't done this myself but it seems logical. I know when one of my girls goes broody, they ALL do -it's like the plague.


@Roan, I was just kidding about candling the whole chicken. Checking fertility, I crack the egg and look for the bull's eye -sacrificing that egg. If I have a breed that I've been waiting forever to hatch from or is to expensive to sacrifice an egg by looking for the bull's eye, then I just put it in the incubator.

I think I have decided on the Brinsea eco 20. Going to order soon. So excited! I have a question though. I think Ron posted this thermometer/hygrometer the other day: http://incubatorwarehouse.com/incubator-thermometer-hygrometer.html Assuming I am reading right the eco 20 does not come with a hygrometer. Would this one work in it? Will it fit?

Well...my "test hatch" is going good so far...1/6 have hatched and it is only day 18!!!
