6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

Wow, lovely nice prize for the random post contest :)

Meanwhile, I've been trying not to over-fiddle w/ my LG incubator, but as others have stated the older 9200 has some temp flux issues, esp. when my house heater has some temp. flux issues. I find I simply have to adjust it at night & then in the am, ever so tiny tiny just touch the dial type adjustments in order to keep it from being too cold at night or too hot during the day :(

The new, (different shaped styro) LG 9200 appears to not be as subject to these fluxes (this on I set Dec 4 when I didn't get the duck eggs) It was set w/ 64 eggs, from 2 other ppl's plus some of mine, day 7 I pulled 12 eggs, (4 duds, 8 bloodrings) those were from their eggs. Thing is the eggs I set a week later are the other half of the eggs I got at that time from those other ppl, so I figure they will be pretty _old_ & I'll be pulling a high % of them when we candle for the NYD HAL, on the up side of (not telling) total # set, I had 22 FRESH from my own girls so those I have good hopes for.

& my girls gave me 5 eggs today, best single day since they got back from their vacation (molt) , which is good b/c the DH was none too happy to see all those other eggs take a detour away from the kitchen!

Meanwhile, just for fun , today our Dogue de Bordeaux turned 1 yr old, kinda cool he was born on a Fri the 13 & turned 1 on 12/13/14, he is the puppy on the left, that is a 7ft long couch & a 6ft,5inch tall DH in the background to give you an idea of size, we are trying to get him to be chicken-friendly like our current old farm dog (not pictured).

I'll win them. I don't post on here much so I probably hit the number.

Actually I'm posting something now so I can at least try to hit that number. I'll try posting something at least every day.

Yes!

You have to be in it to win it!
