ok trying not to get overwhelmed this is the first time I have seen anything over a cooling off period, although personally I was less worried about opening the bator knowing the eggs are left for short times when hen might go stretch or do chicken things, now am worried I might need to cool down the eggs bit more?

Right!?!? I love them. I wish I hadn't sold any. There were 2 more pullets from this combo that I sold to a local gal. I need to email her to see if she can send me photos just out of curiousity to see what they look like nearly full grown. I plan to cross these two again at some point this breeding season. Probably when the weather turns cold while I'm still hatching d'Uccles. Baby Fats is an excellent nest warmer. She's not full on broody, but she helps keep the eggs from freezing, which is totally a problem with the d'Uccles cause they don't usually sit on the nest very long and I don't heat the coop.

im thinking ill hatch milkshake/malts egg but they are brother and sis and im not sure if ill be able to do this.....what do you think?

not for any of my teams. The helmet usually goes on after 8 or 10 beers. It wigs my neighbors out seeing me wearing a helmet and a speedo

Set the eggs in the Brinsea. Realize now that there's nothing to do. I walk into the incubator room and it's like "Why am I here?" Kind of like walking into a room and not remembering the reason. Thanks, Brinsea, for making me feel senile!

I check the temp at least 3 times a day,but it never changes.

I usually cut a hole in the bottom of each egg cup to allow a better flow of oxygen.

I do also.

Here is a needle felted chicken I made as an example for the "Cutest Chick" prize. This one is 3" tall, but the one I will make for the prize will be bigger, probably "6. The winner would get to pick the breed/color.

LOL Okay, so I've been talking alot about the HAL and my brother just said that for the Easter HAL, we need to get a second incubator so we can both hatch out. This way, we could compete with you all and each other!

Tried candling the snake eggs under the broody rattlesnake. The momma was unhappy and bit me. Headed to the e.r.

This is my roo Blackbeard. He is a cross of my d'Uccle mille fleur roo (Fog) and one of my most favorite hens who is part cochin, but mostly mutt. She's just beautiful and crossing her with Fog made some of the cutest chicks and some very beautiful grown birds. Nevermind that he's missing his tail feathers here. One of the big matriarchs of my flock decided plucking his tail was how she would force him into his place in the pecking order. Prior to that, he had a magnificent black with irridecent blue/green hue tail that was very upright, much like your roo. These are some of his sisters (the ones I kept) These are their parents: Fog & Baby Fats

Don't worry about cooling too much. It will on average get one more chick to hatch.

Stable correct temperature and humidity is much more important.

Very nice! I supposing that they are bantam sized. I love the crests on them. Is you original hen crested?
