6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

Just read that they're 17-19 days. Once hatched, I will have to tube feed them.

We raised topical birds years ago. We started hand feeding the babies within a certain amount of days from hatch. They TRULY thought they were people, not birds. Or maybe the other way around. But they sure were sweet!!! I like my chickens better though :)

I am rapidly developing a fondness for the wyandotte, violet is such a good chicken :) she's been such an egg trooper too I didnt expect her to give me an egg more like everyday every other day was my expectation she seems like such a good top hen too, I've seen her step between Butler and stop him from harassing the chicks when I put them in,, today I was petting dotty she was squaking in protest all the chickens ran over to see if she was ok and violet pecked at my hand to save her not hard just a light lil hey what you doing kinda peck. and she loves to follow me around. I really want to get some laced wyandottes I absolutely adore the feathering
