6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

I just had a surprise little easter egg hunt! I was out refilling the duck pool and I saw an egg! The very first egg from my Ancona ducks, and I turned around and there was another egg! They are a beautiful blue!!!

My silkie eggs are being re-shipped soon also. I need more incubators!!!

Have you hatched with either of those thermometers before?   I would be inclined to trust the top one especially if there is healthy development in the eggs and not worry about the bottom one.
I have used it before, but I also had another dual thermometer so had 4 readings to get an average. But , I don't remember if this one read low before.

Here's my conundrum:
The top of the eggs reads 101-102. Great! However, the floor of the incubator reads 93. Not great. I'm hoping that the floor reading is not equal to the bottom of the eggs. I had it warmer, but in order to get 97 at floor level, the top temp has to be 104, and I'm worried that's too hot. The incubator is on the floor, so maybe that has something to do with it. I put it on a towel hoping that would help.
A towel may help~ Yes. That's one thing I did NOT do this hatch, is check temp at multiple levels too much. I set it for 99.5 at turner level, and have left it alone 99% of the time. I've had a couple spikes to 101-2, but so far so good. Fingers crossed...

my understanding the airflows in thru the bottom vents and out thru the top vents cool air being drawn in low and hot air expelling high causing a circulated airflow in the bator restricting any could cause issues with the intake outtake of air? least thats my understanding perhaps someone with more confident knowledge can verify or deny
