6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

The eggs start incubating as soon as they warm up. If you set before noon, than that is day one. Setting after noon you count the next day as day one.

It is not a big deal though. Eggs can be set a day sooner or later, no worries. Just make sure the humidity stays up so you may need to add water just before they pip.

I'm glad I know how to do the counting, now. Better than last time when I miscalculated the other way, and stopped turning only one day before hatch!

Just started up the hatcher. I like to get it ready a couple days early to make sure the temp and humidity gets to where I want it. I can't believe in less than a week I could have some new babies. I'm eggcited to see what I get this time. Hatching is such an addiction. I think I'm going to have to start selling the chicks though. We have about 40-45 I've hatched since October and we already had 75....... Man I think I have a problem, just put 24 more in the bator today and collecting more for next week. I really need to find some customers.
