why our hatching egg guru has been positively saintly putting up with a million and one questions.....having to tell ppl to check first page over n over again, panic choas, having to deal with ppl he'd rather ignore and still be polite too I am sure the list goes on

The temp here now is 35 deg and falling, I have two broody hens on my eggs in the coop but when they hatch will I need extra heat or should the mamas take care of that?

Id put a heat lamp in to help moma when she needs to stretch her legs the babies wont chill, I was able to bring my banty broody in till weather gets warm, her little body on reg size chicks are all she can handle

I swear none of you sleep or work lol j/k.

I don't have time to go back and read all the posts so I will just say congrats to everyone that already has baby chicks and good luck to those of you who are still waiting. also Happy New Year to all my fellow BYCers.

I still have 3 Silkie eggs under my broody, hoping good things are happening, and hopefully I will hear peeps in the next day or 2.

So this is what the egg looks like now...not much progress and it doesn't cheep anywhere near as loud as its sibling did when hatching. It s still alive ad I see it pressing against the membrane every now and then. How does it look??? Should I start worrying now? When should I intervene? Its been at least 12 hours since I woke up ad found it. I'm gonna be up ALL night at this rate..Some good news though, there are 2 more pips. that's 4 in total including the one in the pic and the one that already hatched. All are green/blue eggs too
