6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

Ha! That's the one! I forgot to post the link..doh! I did this, I could tell. :) Just make sure you have a lot of tissue, or paper towels. They can surprise you if you don't get all of the poop out.

You know it!

We're still hanging out with the pipped egg from this morning.... not much movement. Four more silent eggs, too.

I'm gonna go do some Yoga and breathe into the space created by my impatience.

One of my chicks pipped low, around 11:30 last night. It just hatched a few hours ago.

I've read that when they pip low and not into the air cell, it takes longer for them to hatch. The external pip = an internal pip in this case.
Thanks! Great news, I decided to take out the driest chicks-- four of them-- did like Ron said and did a quick mist and dropped a wet paper towel. Last I looked I can CLEARLY see the membrane moving where that one is breathing! Rate looks normal too. AND my humidity returned right back to where it was. Woohoo!!

CONGRATS everyone on these BEAUTIFUL babies!! I can't wait to get pics of mine once I have time to breathe! :gig

Well let the hatch begin? lol..I have 2 pips in my second batch of eggs, set the day after I set my first that just hatched.

Had 3 more hatch today. I ended up with 17 out of 20 hatching. I still have two no shows in the bator but I don't expect them to hatch. One died after it pipped internally.

Here they are keeping warm on a ziploc bag full of hot water in a towel last night when the power was out.
