Yesterday she layed a normal egg and her right earlobe is almost completely red again with very light pink splotching, the left lobe is more pink but still lots of white splotching. I have been trying to research many suggestions from all of you with nothing promising yet.
Will post pic of yesterdays egg later when its daylight........

ARGH! Frustration at its best!

I will keep the eggs that I have in the 'bator right now but they will go to the laying flock because of uncertainty if they hatch. I will not use her for breeding, and will move her to the laying flock.

With the lobe color and the egg color changing at the same time, IMHO it's pretty obvious that it's something stress-related. She may have or have had a specific disease, or for all we can tell maybe she just had a tummy ache. I hope she remains recovered!

Here she is today.....a couple of moments ago. She's thrilled can you tell?

and the eggs..... the one in the middle is the funky one that she layed the other day. The 1st on the left is the one just before the funked out one and the 3rd is yesterdays.

Please let me know if you all can see these photo's clearly, I can on my computer but once they are posted and I view them they are all fuzzy and grainy. Sorry!

Ack! that girl likes to play tricks on you! Silly girl! Glad she got better! Now let see in a month how she is faring out. Just hope it does not happen again.

By the way, she is a very lovely pullet!

I am going to watch her closely and update. She gave me another beautiful egg today.

I am thankful for the great responses and suggestions that I received......I have gained great information researching yeast/fungal infections and calcium deficiencies.
Gotta love those Wellies!

The pics help a lot Kim. They look good. I sent you an email reply but then had to come on BYC and look at the pics. Nice birds. Definitely some sort of illness. Looks like whatever it was it is passing. That's good news!
