The cake, what cake ?? LOL
No there is still some left, my wife is so good, refuses to try it (weight watchers and desserts and cheese are two of her biggest pitfalls).
It's really light and tart and oh so good...

I'm making an orange cranberry version of this today - using Orange Crush soda, orange zest and slightly pureed dried cranberries that I'm going to plump in some cheap brandy... Learned last time to only use about 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar to glaze the cake with and to let it really totally cool before applying the glaze.

Photos and disclaimers to follow later. LOL
Cranberry and orange soda cake (chopped dried cranberries and finely minced orange zest and Orange Crush soda added to the basic recipe). Will report in next week... LOL
PS that stuff on the right is naan crisps - wedges of naan that I toss in a garlic/herb/evo puree and then bake at 400 about 1/2 hour on parchment paper. Very good alone, with cheese or dipped in hummus...
