So is there any chance Nutmeg is a pullet? I read on here that the patchy coloration usually signifies cockerel in this breed. The comb showed a couple of weeks ago and the little almost crowing sounds are nothing I have heard from my other hens. Even my kids were like, uh oh.
oh that's helpful thank you. I don't think my barred rocks had that much comb nor color at four weeks.barred rocks at ~4 weeks. There were 7 gals and 7 dudes in the hatch. Those red combs in the galley picture/avatar are likely all dudes.
