7 week old chick with no feathers

My tractor supply told me they don’t carry them in my area.
Ah...an employee.

Most of BYC has some disdain for TSC employees (unless they themselves happen to work there.) Many employees talk out their tushes and lie. Most have never owned a chicken in their lives, unless it came plastic-wrapped on Styrofoam.
  • Some try to sell me Diatomaceous Earth. (I ask you...)
  • Some try and tell you that chickens will injure their beaks eating grit (chickens don't chew.)
  • Some even commit the ultimate crime and tell me that a 4x4 coop will hold sixteen birds. (Finches, maybe.)
Advice: Do not trust TSC employees. Bring your phone and look up pictures of the chicks you want to buy. It may save you much aggravation if you go in and see a pen of "black sexlinks" with white spots on their heads. (That has happened to me)

Agreed, Brahma cockerel.

Also that most feed store employees (especially TSC) do NOT know what they are talking about. TSC may not specifically receive chicks labeled Silkies. They usually have a bin of "mixed bantams" and unfortunately those are not sexed. Well intention-ed employees way to often give REALLY bad advice.

And most stores put more than one breed in the same bin. Usually breeds that are easy to tell apart. The labels are often hanging around there SOME where. Even on the other side of the bin... and we have completely missed the other labels. :barnie Luckily we were just window shopping and I'm pretty familiar with quite a few breeds. And I know a turkey poult is not a chick when I see them.

Your blue one looked female the last time I looked at her pic. :fl
