Good to know....I'd never heard about the differences in face. We were just guessing based on size and which ones had big combs. Really hoping we end up with 4 hens out of the 9....which, from the above, it sounds like we might!

When I say face I mean comb, wattles, and earlobes.

Just for clarification. Their heads don't get bigger or anything, Lol.

Just to add to other things to look for.... Roos will have more intense coloration, more uneven coloration, and shiny, pointy hackle (neck) and saddle feathers (over the back in front of the tail).

Oh, haha....well, they certainly act like they have bigger heads sometimes.

I agree with this except I am not sure about the one in the last pic. I think these might be mixed breeds. I think they are all RIR mixed with something.
