I have a chick (7 weeks old) with a broken leg... It seems to be high up on the leg and she is dragging her leg behind her. She is still moving around and eating and drinking just fine.
I called the local vets and found one (only one!) that is willing to treat her, but they want $200+ to x-ray her leg - just to start.
Any ideas? Anything I can do at home? Can a chicken live with just one leg and be ok?

Welcome to BYC.

I'm sorry to hear about your girl.
I don't know how to treat a broken leg, but I'm sure several people here on BYC have been successful. Search up at the top for broken leg and see what results you can find.

Here's few links for leg/foot problems I have bookmarked that may be helpful or get you started:

Thank you.
After 2 days of calling and being told by most vets that they wont treat a chicken, I found one who will assess the injury for $60!! At least then we'll know exactly what is wrong and where to go from there.

I hope they will be able to help
