I need help, I was given 7000 ( yep not a misprint 2 and 1/2 tons) of chicken finisher just for going and get it. What can I feed it to chicken or turkeys?
I can buy used but in really good shape bulk cloth feed bags but then I have to move than and keep mouse out. They are $40 a sack and I need 4.
Any ideas on storage and use?

You I thought about it too. And I am really lean to that then buying my feed for my turkeys with the money.

Hmm. Feed goes stale in about 3 to 4 months. That's a lot of feed. You could freeze it to keep it fresh, but you'd need a lot of freezer space.

You could buy a couple of thousand more chickens...or sell the excess feed.

Craigslist it and sell it. Maybe donate some to disadvantaged people with chickens.

My feed mill would charge me $1200 for 7000 pounds of bulk layer.

Isn't it great when God works things out. We ended up with about 10,000 pounds of feed. It started raining so had to the trailer in barn then backed a huge grain bin that on a truck fame in to and they unload it all to the grain bin. A friend of our has all kinds of stuff that he gets at action setting in the weeds. So, we bought it from him for a little of nothing. While we were digging around we find a new roll of harder cloth in the weeds, he wanted $15 for it,I said sold before he finished telling me the price. Reached in my jeans and handed him a $20. Man this fall I am going on a treasure
hunt in his fields.

I was going to suggest to start mixing it into your soups and stews as a thickener .. but it seems you got it covered now:plbb

Whoa! Thats a lot of feed! Like others have said, you could sell it, or like said also, donate to some needy families with chickens?
