Mostly a bunch of random backyard mixes with a couple from RIR and RIR/BR pen. I love the variety you get with mixes; you never know what the chicks will look like.

34 are are growing. There were a couple dark shells that I'm not sure on, so I just left them in, I saw no blood ring and they were dark like the other developers so I'm hopeful.

I have some eggs that I put in lock down tonight. Will get the humidity up tomorrow. Due on Sunday. Silkie or SG's again.

Day 7!!!! I candled 20 of my 38 eggs, and 19 of them have veins and movement, one was dark and hard to see, will check it again when I candle the remaining 18 eggs tomorrow!! So far, my first attempt and homemade incubator is looking good! Too early to celebrate, but so far so good. Most importantly.... Leonardo, had motion inside!! I haven't had to open or mess with the incubator, it is holding steady at 99.5-100 with humidity at 35-45. Soooo much fun!

I've gotta do something for our mail ladies for sure... our main carrier is Mary and she is absolutely awesome... I always try to meet her at the bottom of our driveway out of courtesy (our driveway is super steep), but sometimes I'm out with the chickens and miss seeing her or I have to be somewhere... she puts our boxes on a chair on the porch if dog isn't out, or in a box we leave out for her...

Last box of eggs that came was supposed to come in by Sat and didn't... tracking wasn't updated since it was mailed and I figured those eggs were goners... first thing Mon morn the box was on our porch... 3 hrs later our mail was delivered like normal... even with awful air cells a few of those eggs are currently developing in my bator...
