7th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2016 Hatch-A-Long

Ha ha! They look more like baby booties!

You are as crazy as I hoped

So I know there could be other factors as well but my 7 duck eggs that quit on day 23 did have slopping air cells. They were in the perfect place. Could they have quit because I didn't put them in lockdown early and raised the humidity? I thought they were slopping early but I didn't think to lock down early.

I don't know anything about ducks. But it's possible.

That is a great idea, thank you!!  I actually have a new roll.

Also when you set them make sure the lowest dip in the air cell is facing up.

We have commenced lockdown!!!!! All 5 still look great. A couple air cells were a bit funky looking so they get to hatch in a carton. Humidity is up and I will be working till 10 tonight so we don't have to worry about fingers!!!

I think you can teach me something! I've never marked air cells before, but I can imagine "funky" as I've seen a lot of normal. Why do you put them in a carton to hatch?
