Of my 8 eggs, 5 are hatched, 1 is externally pipped and the last two are internally pipped and peeping away! Looks like I'll be hatching into day 22. :fl that they all make it!

How is your hatch comin?  Sorry with my thread I cant keep up with this one, I only catch some stuff when I go to my subscriptions and then help if I see something pop up.

Mine is over another set due next week and I just set a bunch more this afternoon

HERE are pics of my hatch.... post #24825
had set tons of serama but having fertility issues, got 15 out of 16 one was DIS poor thing even absorbed but couldnt turn to pip as it was a mal.

I have a question, if an egg is a certain malpositioned can it still internally pip into the air cell?

And 1 black Ohiki baby so far...

Yay!! So happy for you!!

Just had another chick hatch (olive back yard egg). I only have one more of those to hatch and it hasn't pipped yet. The legbar mix(backyard egg also) chick looks like it is about to start zipping. The rest are marans.

Of my backyard eggs it would seem my hens took a particular liking to the feather footed rooster this go around. All the backyard chicks has some degree of feathering down the legs.

How long can a chick last before it must externally pip? Basically, how long will the air in the aircell last before the chick runs out of air?

I've been listening to this chick peeping almost half the day, but it hasn't broken through the shell yet. I am just wondering when would it be necessary to step in.
