It is a maybe for right now as I have 42 in incubator due to hatch December 4th.

Dec. 4th? You have plenty of time to get things figured out for this one.

I'm hoping to be a newbie to the Hatch-A-Long this year. Working on making my own homemade incubator. Keep your fingers crossed it all works out. Sooooooooo Excited!!!

Count me in. This is my first year to get chickens so I have not ever hatched any before. I planned on using broodys for breeding but this sounds super fun so I would love to participate. Since I am not sure about whether I will really use an incubator long term, I am going to buy a cheapy off of ebay for the contest. I know they don't have the greatest reviews like a Brinsea but I don't want to drop too much money on something I may not use more than once. I guess I will segregate my White Rock (Elvis) with my Dark Cornish birds and try and make my own Cornish rock X. They are still laying ok right now so hopefully that will remain for the next couple of weeks. This is exciting, looking forward to it!

The cheaper incubator should work fine with local eggs. Shipped eggs need a lot of help. You will be able to use the cheaper one for hatching when you get a better one later.
