7th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2016 Hatch-A-Long

Day 7!!!! I candled 20 of my 38 eggs, and 19 of them have veins and movement, one was dark and hard to see, will check it again when I candle the remaining 18 eggs tomorrow!! So far, my first attempt and homemade incubator is looking good! Too early to celebrate, but so far so good. Most importantly.... Leonardo, had motion inside!! I haven't had to open or mess with the incubator, it is holding steady at 99.5-100 with humidity at 35-45. Soooo much fun!

I like seeing the pictures. Waiting on chick pictures.

Hard to tell on those EE's!  They get dark fast when a chick is growing in there.  I had questioned one of my OE's, a dark green egg.. in my last hatch, thought is might be gone, but, I questioned it..kept it in, and it was the second chick to hatch.

Thank you I can't wait to see if it hatches. I love my EE's that have the most cutest faces besides my silkies

My eggs are on day 14 today (put htem in a week early so that they wouldn't be too old to develop). They were doing great, and then my incubator went gazoo and was up to 111 degrees!!!!!!!!!

Opened the top and double checked all of the settings-got it cooled down (my x10 controller was unplugged so the computer wasn't controlling it anymore

.) I suddenly became grateful I had put 4 eggs under my broody hen last week...at least SOMETHING should hatch. Haven't given up on the incubator yet-will candle again on day 18 and see if I see movement.

Boo on fluctuating temperatures!

My worst nightmare. We have company this weekend with lots to do. Many kids and incubator is to accessible to little hands. Although door is closed I'm going to be spending extra time in the room.
