Candling is the best part next to having actual chicks.I just randomly candled one egg. Saw its foot moving cool. Thanks to all that have been showing what their eggs are doing. Now I know more what to look for.

I leave them in their turner and candle them from the top, so I'm not picking them up each time. I have to open the bator to add water anyway so why not candle I say. hahaaI used to think candling bothered them I guess not.
I will be locking down 5 shipped eggs tomorrow at 10 pm. 3 AC and 2 AC crosses.they all hatch!!!!! I can't wait to see what happens!!!!! Good luck everyone!!!!!
I set on the 10th due to the age of my eggs. Tonight i did my final candle and 36 out of 40 are in lock down. Woo Hooo !! Had 5 BCM eggs that i couldn't see in except to tell they have developed so those are in to but couldn't see movement like in all the others.![]()
