Thank you! (This is beyond cool, I NEVER win anything!)
Yes, you did win!

I am very jealous, and a bit heart broken. I can't believe nothing hatched for me. I have hatched several times, and this is a first.
I'm so sorry about your hatch.

I'm cautiously hopeful for this hatch, but I'm still apprehensive after losing my Christmas hatch. I still don't know exactly what I did wrong. I had a pip and peeping and everything looked good. I won't have any concrete ideas until I do this hatch. Was there anything you did different at all?

I thought mine was heat...but then all these eggs (the ones I can see into) are moving and alive. I plugged a couple of holes that weren't supposed to be there anyway...I unplugged them again. Maybe it was just something super small that happened with yours? I reread the incubating info again. I try to think of the quote..."fall down nine times, get up ten." We're gonna get there.

Yes, a sponge in a dish is great for raising humidity!

I fill the dish up to the top of the sponge--you need to make sure the hatched chicks do not drown in the water.

If you're going to open the incubator to add sponges or water, then that would be the perfect time to check on that egg. Sometimes I keep a bowl of steaming water right next to the incubator if I have to open it and humidity is being an issue.

I've added a sponge...the incubator is full, no room to add anything else. I am up to 7 pips now and the others look more active. I did briefly check the old pipped egg- the pip is adjacent to the air bubble, right on the border of it. I did not see any movement. I pealed back the outer shell only (the parts that were already broken) so I could get a better look at the beak area. The membrane underneath did not look all dried out, but I did still try to moisten it. I didn't see any movement or hear any peeping from that egg when I handled it. I put in back in the incubator. If its already dead there is nothing I can do about it, but if it is living I will find out in due time as I watch/wait for the other chicks to hatch...

The egg next to the troubled egg is making a move...acting like it wants to be the first to hatch!

I had babies hatch all day yesterday and last night. I have 8 babies. Here is a photo with 5 in the brooder, I now have 6 in there, and two in the bator still. Little Silkie babies. I love this Partridge. It still had curled toes when I got up this morning, so it is now sporting a very popular pair of boots. :) I sure hope this Partridge is a girl! I have three paints, three blues, the Partridge, and one black, at least I'm thinking it's black..still wet in the bator.
:jumpy SO CUTE!!! :jumpy :love
