Update-

My troubled/malpositioned chick is still alive. The inner membrane is getting stuck to her. I've been using a moist cutie to keep the area as moist as I can. I've been using gradually breaking the egg shell, pealing it back as it pulls away from the inner membrane. I don't think the chick looks too good, but its still breathing and viable. It did kick a leg out after I was able to moisten-up the inner membrane.

Its back in the incubator now.

I had two chicks hatch yesterday late afternoon/evening that did not have the best looking umbilici. One passed and the other does not look like it will make it. All the chicks have electrolyte water. One other chick has a lot of energy, but the toes are curled funny. Legs look strong, but curl in toes puts balance off kilter. The blondes are having a much harder time than the darks.

I'm sorry you lost one, and one is struggling, but they sure look cute!! I hope the rest get stronger and thrive!

Chick partially hatched, alot of blood in bottom of shell. Bleeding next to the cord. It's cord was mushy. Used my husband's styptic swab, so far so good. It's weak, but moving around. Lost alot of blood. Trying to stay positive.....

Ok... I have nine unhatched eggs of my 38, this is my first hatch. Is there anything I should be doing ? When I candle, I sometimes think I see a little life, but could be wishful thinking , they defiantly have good air cells and chicks in them, just don't know if they are alive and need help or not, a couple had "maybe internal pips" or again wishful thinking, if I could even save one... What could I possibly do ?????

My hatch is done. Started with 37 fertile eggs, had 32 at lockdown and hatched 29. The other 3 were eggtopsied and dead.
